Instruction
Instruction is available in several styles of archery form, and teaching format - individual to group. We have one time classes, specialty seminars, and ongoing training/coaching.
Actual shooting instruction will be in one of these forms: Olympic, Freestyle, and Instinctive.
Olympic is a "statue" stance using a recurve bow with sights and finger tab release, shooting is at a stationary target from as far as 100 yards for competition. This is the strict method allowed for the Olympic Games.
Freestyle normally uses modern mechanical/compound bows with or without the aid of sights, stabilizers, and trigger-like string release devices. Freestyle is the most common as it encompasses most shooting situations with short learning curve and physical challenge. In a stationary target shot, Freestyle offers the highest accuracy and consistancy, as long as the equipment is properly tuned for the distance aimed for.
Instinctive is the style of traditional archers. Primarily a longbow or recurve bow are used (although compounds can be used). Essentially, a barebow - no sights, and only finger release. This style is the most challenging and simplest. If you can see it (your target), you can hit it. Developed skill through repetitive training allows for the depth-perception to hit moving targets.
All forms are fun!
